If you’d like to discover Bucharest by foot and enjoy every minute of it, this is the place to stay. The flat is in a quiet location 7 minutes walking distance from the Old Town and near a grocery store. Cozy big balcony, fully equipped kitchen. ATMs, metro station, places of interest like Casa Poporului all in waking distance.

The house belongs to a couple, architect and engineer and they created an elastic fusion between modern and vintage style which can easily accommodate up to 8 persons.

The STORY

The building was made in year 1937 and has 3 floors, ground floor+2. The upper floor was bought by a family of Jews. The lady was working for the international news department of the national radio station and the man was an economist who was doing economic espionage. We bought the apartment with all the things inside and spent months going through all of them. He invented some economic formulas of how to set and calculate the profit margins in some specific industries.

When the communists came, they hid their passports which were issued while Romania was a kingdom. We found them and you cand see them in the showcase.

Beyond all, they had a beautiful love story. We found and translated the letter he wrote to her after their first night together on the wedding day and of course the letter she wrote him in response.

We reconstructed the space keeping the old stile and furniture and taking care of the details like keeping the smaller doors which were for the servants and the bigger ones for the masters.
